OUR COMPANY
Tall Tree Engineering is a full-service civil and geotechnical engineering company. The company was founded by Susanne Loutsis, PE in 2020, who manages the day- to-day operations for the company and is the sole director for all public works projects. As the President and Chief Financial Officer of Tall Tree, Ms. Loutsis reviews all public and private project documents, tracks all project progress, and provides oversight during construction. Additionally, Ms. Loutsis prepares engineering construction documents, specifications, estimates, does topographic surveys and conducts special studies for the company.
Ms. Loutsis has experience in both the public and private sectors. In 2015 she began working for the City of Willits as the Assistant Engineer. During that time, she practiced engineering and acted as a project manager and public representative. Her work there led to understanding the public process of getting capital improvement projects done; from project identification, budgeting, surveying, design, advertising and bidding, sub-contracting, staking, construction inspection, to project close-out. She understands the value of adaptability and problem solving that can be applied to various types of public works and engineering projects. In 2019 she returned to the private sector and now focuses on Tall Tree Engineering’s business development, public and private civil and structural design, and compliance projects. For fun, she enjoys spending time at the river.
Ms. Loutsis works with her partner, Dustin Fredricey, PE whom she met while studying Environmental Resources Engineering at Cal Poly Humboldt. Mr. Fredricey has a solid background managing projects in the private sector. He started his career in the environmental remediation field, later moved toward rural and urban land development, and now also practices geotechnical engineering, his passion. Mr. Fredricey is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Geological Engineering from Missouri University Science and Technology.
Dustin understands how to effectively get permits processed by working with regulatory entities to efficiently get your project moving forward. Dustin has extensive experience as a field surveyor and understands the importance of accurate topographic mapping for rural and urban land development projects. He has extensive experience preparing construction documents, doing geotechnical investigations in Sonoma, Mendocino, and Humboldt County, and is well versed in the intricacies of rural and commercial development. He loves getting on site with land owners to help make their land development visions a reality. For fun he likes to develop his own homebrew recipes and go steelhead fishing in the Eel River.
Susanne and Dustin’s passion for protecting the natural environment and mutual interests in mathematics and engineering has led them to develop a lasting personal and professional relationship. They currently live in Willits California, with their daughter Dee Ora, where they dedicate themselves to providing outstanding professional consulting services based on honesty and integrity.
